Department

ELECTRONIC & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING (ECE) @KITPS

The Electronics & Communication Engineering branch represents fastest growing technology areas in view of exponential growth taking place in the communication networks around the Globe. The department is organized with the latest developments in terms of curriculum, well-qualified faculty and the state-of the art for B.Tech. course in laboratories.

The department conducts B.Tech. course in Electronics & Communication Engineering which is running from the academic session 2009-2010 with intake of 60 students.

The department also has its technical society which organizes quizzes, technical seminars, mock interviews, aptitude tests, and technical paper Presentation etc for the students.

The Electronics & Communication Engineering department also conducts seminars and workshops for students to become the student’s successful professionals.

  • LABORATORIES
The Department has state-of the art laboratories where practical knowledge is provided to students by the experienced instructors and expert technicians under the supervision of competent faculties. All the related equipments and software are available in the department as per the syllabus.
The department is equipped with the following labs for B.Tech (ECE) Program:-
  • BASIC ELECTRONICS LAB:
This lab helps students to enhance their knowledge about various electronics equipments both passive as well as active.
  • DIGITAL ELECTRONICS LAB:
Digital Electronics Laboratory is fully equipped with the required instruments such as C.R.O., Multimeters, signal Generator etc.
  • DIGITAL ELECTRONICS LAB:
Digital Electronics Laboratory is fully equipped with the required instruments such as C.R.O., Multimeters, signal Generator etc.
  • ANALOG & DIGITAL COMMUNICATION LAB:
This lab is equipped with Digital Storage Oscilloscopes, cathode-ray oscilloscope, Function generators & various kits for implementing and understanding Communication circuits/ techniques.
  • MICROWAVE AND OPTICAL FIBER COMMUNICATION LAB:
It consist of various microwave benches having Klystron and Gunn diode as microwave sources. By using these benches we can find out various characteristics of microwave devices like couplers, tees, circulators, isolators etc.
  • MICROPROCESSOR LAB:
The students undergo training on the programming and also interfacing different microprocessors and micro-controllers. The facilities in the lab are 8085, 8086, 8051 trainer kits.
  • DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING LAB:
This lab consists of a software MATLAB and it is a high-level language and interactive environment that enables you to perform computationally intensive tasks faster than with traditional programming languages such as C, C++, and Fortran.
  • DELECTRONICS CIRCUIT DESIGN LAB:
In this practical course students will carry out a design oriented project work using various analog/ digital building blocks which they have already studied in their analog electronic/digital electronic courses such as Electronic circuits, integrated circuits and filter design.
  • ANALOG INTEGRATED CIRCUIT LAB:
The lab is equipped with OrCAD Pspice simulation software so that accurate measurement and analysis of circuits becomes possible.
  • ELECTRONICS WORKSHOP AND PCB LAB:
This Lab is useful for faculty, staff and students for their research work / higher study & completion of project work.
  • PROJECT LAB:
It is used by all students of electronics department whenever they are making the projects. Students build their own knowledge by exploring amplifiers, analogue and digital circuits plus learn how to read schematic diagrams. Build a special lighting effect, radio transmitter and receivers. Thus this lab gives the practical exposure to the students with real electronic world..

List of some Projects Done by the Students:

  • ONE WISE VEHICLE PARAMETER CONTROL .
  • ACCIDENT PREVENTION USING EYE BLINK SENSOR
  • AUTOMATIC SPEED CONTROL BY ULTRASONIC SENSOR
  • REAL TIME AUTOMATIC PATIENTS MONITORING SYSTEM
  • ATM SECURITY
  • POWER LINE COMMUNICATIONGESTURE ROBOT
  • VEHICLE THEFT INFORMATION USING MOBILE PHONE
